Brent began his career as a Fort Smith lawyer as a law enforcement officer for the Fort Smith Police Department. During his 7 years of service with the FSPD, he gained significant experience and was recognized as an expert in Drug Recognition and DWI. His time spent in law enforcement led to a desire to study law, and now gives him a unique approach to criminal law. Brent's practice in criminal law in is focused on DWI charges, juvenile court proceedings and drug court proceedings.
Not only did Brent's career in law enforcement prepare him for a criminal law practice, it also provided a deep understanding of family law. As a law enforcement officer, Brent was exposed to the ins and outs of family law in Fort Smith and identified instances where the courts and police agencies made mistakes. Brent uses this experience to provide hand-tailored legal solutions with thorough preparation. His family law practice is focused on (but not limited to) divorce, custody/visitation, child/spousal support, adoption, and DHS dependency-neglect cases.
Although focused on criminal law and family law, Brent also has experience in the areas of probate law in Fort Smith. His probate law experience includes guardianship, estate planning & will preparation, and the probate process.
